DIMOS: System supplier for port logistics

Vehicles for efficient container handling

Four vehicles make up the portfolio of Petersberg-based mechanical engineering company DIMOS for use in port logistics: the ATT straddle stacker, CHARGER electric heavy-duty compact forklift, DMS electric multidirectional sideloader and INTRAC pallet mover. In this industry too, the system provider relies on customized solutions configured to meet specific customer requirements. Even in their basic configuration, the vehicles are designed for transporting heavy and bulky loads. They are electric, space-saving and flexible in their equipment thanks to the modular system.

The ATT electric straddle stacker can be operated with either a lithium-ion battery or a lead-acid battery. This ensures the energy-efficient transportation of large goods. The vehicle from DIMOS is also designed for multi-shift operation: heavy and bulky loads are no problem for this powerhouse with a capacity of up to 35 tons. This makes the vehicle ideal for use in large outdoor warehouses. But maneuvering work is no challenge either. This is because the ATT straddle stacker is very maneuverable and can be used in confined spaces thanks to the multi-articulated steering system. In addition, the rotating panoramic cab can be manually adjusted to the prevailing visibility conditions. The vehicle is able to pick up containers thanks to semi-automatic positioning and with the help of twist locks (locks that connect containers to the vehicle). Orders can be sent directly to the vehicle via a connection to the warehouse management system (WMS). A satellite image of the company premises appears on the monitor in the driver's cab - thanks to the mapping, the vehicle localizes the destination and the driver can drive to the destinations according to priority.

The CHARGER heavy-duty compact forklift truck

The CHARGER heavy-duty compact forklift truck offers a robust yet maneuverable solution for indoor and outdoor use. The development is based on a cooperation between HUBTEX and DIMOS. One result of the successful collaboration between the two internationally active manufacturers of special vehicles is the heavy-duty compact forklift truck, which, with load capacities of 8 to 30 tons, enables the efficient handling of heavy loads in the tightest of spaces. The vehicles have stable, robust lift masts and offer maximum maneuverability and optimum all-round visibility from the panoramic driver's cab thanks to the individual wheel steering. In addition, the all-electric drive on the CHARGER also results in extremely energy-efficient, low-maintenance and quiet operation. The CHARGER compact forklift truck combines compact design with high flexibility. The result: maximum space savings combined with optimum maneuverability. In confined spaces, the vehicle is therefore a good alternative to heavy-duty forklifts, which are often ruled out due to their significantly larger dimensions.

The DMS electric multidirectional sideloader

The electric multidirectional sideloaders from the "DMS" range are core products from DIMOS and offer customers a load capacity of 1.5 to 30 tons (and beyond). Like the ATT straddle stacker and the CHARGER, the DMS has a longer service life thanks to its lower energy consumption. The modern lithium-ion technology contributes to this. Service costs are also reduced as there are no maintenance-intensive devices. Thanks to their low temperature sensitivity and the choice of hard or soft tires, the electric multidirectional sideloaders are designed for all applications - both indoors and outdoors. Two-part pendulum frames compensate for uneven floors to ensure stability and protect the goods and the driver from impacts. The compact design and multi-articulated steering system make the conveyor ideal for narrow aisles and maneuverable in all directions. This frees up storage space and makes journeys flexible and time-saving. Users also gain flexibility with the various attachments for different loads, for example a pick-up device for containers.

The Pallet Mover INTRAC

With the INTRAC pallet mover, DIMOS enables fully automated handling of bins/containers indoors. With its 360° steering system, the INTRAC is significantly more maneuverable than conventional solutions on the market and can make the most of this advantage, especially in warehouses with limited capacity. Overall, users gain around 50 percent more storage space with the vehicle. Thanks to the extra space, the compact Pallet Mover enables dynamic warehouse planning so that users can adapt flexibly to peaks. The transport vehicle can be connected to the respective WMS and can create a block or area storage system fully autonomously thanks to intelligent goods composition; large front stackers, which require wide aisles, become obsolete. Even in its basic configuration, the INTRAC arranges fully autonomous freight operations. But there is another way: in the basic concept of the Pallet Mover, the AGV unit can easily be temporarily replaced by a manual driver unit. The system is easily expandable. This allows users to plan capacity flexibly.

DIMOS is an agile, family-run company with around 100 employees that focuses on customized and needs-based solutions in addition to small series. Based on the standard construction kits of all four vehicles, customers receive customized special solutions that are optimally integrated into the local and technical conditions.
